Jimm Larry Hendren served aboard Intrepid as the ship’s legal officer during the 1966 WESTPAC cruise to Vietnam. Hendren began his interview by discussing his family’s history and describing his education, from high school through Naval Justice School. He then continued, stating that his first orders were as Assistant Legal Officer at Commander Fleet Air Norfolk, where a fortuitous meeting with Captain Giuseppe Macri and Captain John Fair resulted in Hendren becoming Intrepid’s legal officer....

Overview
Richard Allan "Moose" Moran was a pilot with squadron VA-15 on board Intrepid in 1966. On August 7, 1966, Lt. Cdr. Moran crashed into the ocean while attempting to land on board Intrepid. His remains were not recovered. This collection contains his military records and personnel files, which were sent to his wife, Judy, after his death. It also includes dependency and survivor benefit information and forms that were also sent to Judy. Records were kept in the sections they were received in.

Overview
In November 1958, Lynn was flying his F9F-8P Photo Cougar off the coast of Barbados. The aircraft suffered a complete system failure and cockpit fire. The resulting ejection and rescue of Lynn by a local banana boat crew is documented in the letter and a squadron newsletter.
