The William Aubrey Harvison Papers contain materials from his time aboard Intrepid. The majority of the collection is correspondence from Harvison to his mother, his sister, and one other woman named "Ms. Crawford." Scope and Contents
William Murphy served aboard Intrepid as a musician third class and was a member of the Navy band (both the “square” and “swing” bands) during World War II, from 1943 to 1945. Murphy began his interview by stating that he remembered living in South Omaha, Nebraska, and then relocating to a small town near Chicago at the age of 4 or 5. Murphy explained that his mother and sister were musicians, and that he had experimented with music, playing all through high school, a theme that would reoccur...

Abstract
William D. Irvin, nicknamed “Ma,” served on board Growler as a commissaryman from November 11, 1961 to June 18, 1963. The William "Ma" Irvin Papers contain menus, a sprice chart, manuals, cookbooks, and other Naval commissary related materials from his service aboard Growler. The collection also invludes menus from the submarine U.S.S. Volador and the Naval Air Station in Memphis, Tennessee.
