Ken Kincade Papers

Overview The Ken Kincade Papers contain materials from Kincade's Intrepid service between 1972–73, where he serves as Photographic Intelligence Mate 2nd Class. It includes a booklet of creative writing by the crew of the Intrepid, a card for the Order of the Blue Nose, and Ports of Call booklets for several places Intrepid stopped during Kincade's time with the ship.

Kenneth Marshall Papers

Overview Dr. Kenneth Marshall served on board Intrepid as a flight surgeon from January 1967 until December 1968. He served as a flight surgeon and was attached to Carrier Air Wing 10. Following the fire on USS Forrestal on July 29, 1967, Dr. Marshall and five other members of Intrepid’s medical staff assisted in the treatment of casualties, and this describes their activities. This collection contains a summary of the events and a newspaper clipping about Intrepid crewmen helping those affected.

Lane Warren Peterson Papers

Overview The Lane Warren Peterson papers cover Peterson's time aboard Intrepid during World War II. This collection includes Intrepid publications such as the USS Intrepid magazine, and internal documents such as Plans of the Day and news releases given to sailors. It also includes poems and letters collected by and sent to Petereson, most of them jokes and other stories that have little to do with naval service.

Scope and Contents Clipping, Newspaper; Top of clipping says "Vol. 29, No. 342 Sunday Dec. 9, 1973" and includes a photograph of Intrepid with two men on the flight deck and foam drifts on the ground. The text underneath says "Intrepid Takes a Breather on 3rd Out" and has a small article describinig Intrepid's mothballing and decommissioning.

The back of the newspaper clipping has a small, cut off article titled "Concorde Rolls Out" which discusses the Concorde's first test flight.

Overview The Lee Eurich Papers contain two items relating to USS Intrepid's involvement in the pickup of the Mercury 7 capsule. Mr. Eurich served aboard Intrepid from approximately 1961–63. During his time aboard the ship, he served as the editor of the Ketcher and was a Jouranlist 3rd class (JO3).
