Abstract The Robert J. Dunne Papers include a Familygram and flyer for a division party from Dunne's time aboard USS Intrepid. Dunne served on board Intrepid (CVS-11) from December 1969 through September 1971 as a seaman and worked as a boatswain's mate in the 1st Division.

Abstract The Robert J. Salmanowitz papers include papers and membership cards from his time aboard Intrepid from 1955 to 1958. He was part of the OE Division as the ship's photographer. The papers contain membership cards, passes, menus, training materials, notes, and newsletters from his time aboard Intrepid.

Abstract In November 1958, Lynn was flying his F9F-8P Photo Cougar off the coast of Barbados. The aircraft suffered a complete system failure and cockpit fire. The resulting ejection and rescue of Lynn by a local banana boat crew is documented in the letter and a squadron newsletter.

Abstract The Robert Pino archive contains publications collected during his service on board USS Intrepid. It includes several Ports of Call information booklets printed and issued on the ship; several issues of All Hands, The Bureau of Naval Personnel Career Publication; and other Naval publications from the time of Pino's service.

Abstract Robert M. Roof was an Intrepid plankowner and worked in the Gunnery Department. He left the crew as a seaman first class on February 14, 1946. The Robert Roof papers contains newspaper clippings, Plans of the day, certificates, menus, records of his service aboard in Intrepid during World War II and beyond, as well as other various documents relating to his time in the Navy.

Scope and Contents The Robert Wertheimer Concorde Papers contains memorabilia and ephemera from Robert Wertheimer and his trips on the Concorde as a passenger. These items include a booklet on the history and technology of the Concore and a certificate.

Abstract The Rodger Jones papers date from 1944 to 1953 and are divided into the following six series: writings, correspondence, service records, History of Air Group 18, ephemera, and magazines. Writings, correspondence, and service records document Jones’s time MIA in the Philippines and his interactions with Filipino friends, including members of the Hakbalahap guerilla movement. Correspondence also covers pilot N.J. “Rocky” Roccaforte’s death. Ephemera includes membership cards.

Abstract Mr. Shea is a former naval aviator and flew with VA-95 during the Intrepid’s first Vietnam War cruise. Shea’s career included a tour of duty where he was responsible for the training of South Vietnamese pilots on the A-1 Skyraider. This collection centers on that duty. This is a seldom told story and the collection helps tell it in great detail with archives and photographs.
