Scope and Contents From the Series:

This folder contains miscellaneous souvenirs from Lyness’s service, including liberty and leave souvenirs, All Hands magazine issues, and more recent reference material and clippings. The ephemera series includes many types of cards: a shellback card, Imperial Domain of the Golden Dragon, Officers’ Service Club of the United Nations, Navy driver’s permits, Officer’s Beach Club, and a nametag. Coins, dog tags, a ribbon bar, and a signal aid chart were removed to the Object Collection.

This is a logbook recording repairs. It is not clear where it originated. The name on the cover, R. DePhillips, is of an Intrepid Museum volunteer who reused the logbook in the 1980s to track equipment in the CIC.

Scope and Contents From the File: Training and reference material includes unbound binder sleeves, a binder titled GQ [General Quarters]/Emergency, and files of training exercises on Damage Control topics for Repair Parties and other ship personnel. The binder sleeves that were found unbound and out of original order appear to have originated with R Division, specifically 1972–73 R Division Material Officer Chief Warrant Officer 2 Larry E. Scope and Contents Richard Meyers served aboard Growler as a machinist’s mate second class from October 1961 to September 1963.
