Biography
Douglas Peterson, from Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin, served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVS-11) as an attack aviator in VA-34 during Intrepid’s second deployment to Vietnam in 1967. While aboard Intrepid he flew A-4 Skyhawks, performing road reconnaissance missions and participating in Alpha Strikes. After his time on Intrepid, Peterson went to VA-122, an A-7 training squadron out of Lemoore, California, where he spent two years as an instructor pilot. After leaving the Navy, Peterson worked for Wisconsin Power and Light.

Mike Krebs served aboard Intrepid as an attack aviator in VA-34, flying A-4 Skyhawks during Intrepid’s second deployment to Vietnam in 1967. He began his interview by explaining that he grew up in Kenosha, Wisconsin, studied electrical engineering at Marquette University, and joined the NROTC.
