Biography
James Day, from Texas, served aboard Growler as a hospital corpsman from 1961 to 1963. While aboard Growler, his duties included providing first aid to the crew, maintaining health records, administering vaccinations, inspecting the galley, and ensuring that the crew continued to requalify for escape training. After his time aboard Growler, Day attended nuclear medicine school and served aboard the nuclear submarine Flasher, before leaving the Navy and working for the US Postal Service.
