Biography
John “Andy” Anderson served aboard Growler from August 1961 to May 1963. Anderson was born in Montana, and moved to Fairbanks, Alaska, when he was a young child. After joining the Navy, he became a fire control technician and served as the torpedo fire controlman aboard Growler. Anderson then remained in the Navy, serving on four more submarines after Growler, and upon leaving the Navy, became a weapons systems engineer, again working with submarines.
