Biography
Michael Murphy is the second cousin of Lt. Elmer Clarence Namoski, a 26 year old who served on the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CV-11) as a pilot with VB-18. According to the squadron history, he is listed as MIA on October 19th during an attack on Clark Field in the Philippies. He was shot down and died during the battle of Leyte Gulf.
