Biography
Hugh Bayless Cable served on board the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVA-11) from c. 1959 until 1961. He joined the Navy in 1957, and Intrepid was his last duty assignment. By the end of his time in the Navy, he had attained the rating of machinist’s mate second class (MM2). His name appears in the 1959 under the M Division, which operated and maintained Intrepid’s propulsion equipment, including the main engines. He also served as a master-at-arms.
