James W. Swagerty served on board the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CV-11) as a Radarman (RD) during World War II. His daughter Deborah Swagerty reports that her father helped train other radarmen, and that he was close to many of the radarmen who were killed in the November 25, 1944 kamikaze attack. Mr. Swagerty is deceased.
