Biography

Robert M. Roof served on board the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CV-11) during World War II and was a plankowner. He left the crew as a seaman first class on February 14, 1946. He worked in the Gunnery Department. Mr. Roof passed away in 2008. His service number was 819-19-31 and he served in South Pacific Theatre abroad an aircraft carrier. He wore campaign ribbons of the Asiatic-Pacific and American theatres and was decorated with 3 stars for actual battle with the enemy. His military service dates was May 13, 1942-February 26, 1946 and his occupation after service was in the steel works industry.
