Biography

Ms. Bishop is the granddaughter of John Stephen Sheperson who served as a Yeoman First Class (Y1) in the V-6 Department on board Intrepid. He passed away in 1996 and in going through her grandfather’s paper’s Ms. Bishop found a page where Mr. Sheperson had copied down his calendar before he left the ship. The calendar is a diary of sorts that details the major events that happened on board Intrepid March-September 1945. Ms. Bishop has also provided us with photocopies of Mr. Sheperson’s service record for our file.
