Biography
Jere Austin served on board the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CV-11) during World War II as an Ensign/ Fire Marshall in the R2 Division Office. He served from July 1943-June 1946. After the war, Mr. Austin went on to marry his wife Jean and worked as a mechanical engineer with General Electric, the Pelton Waterwheel Co., City of San Francisco. and retired after 371/2 years with Westinghouse Electric Corp.
