Abstract The Jack Gabler papers contain a newspaper clipping, three envelopes, and two letters from Gabler's time aboard USS Growler. Jack Gabler served on board USS Growler as a sonarman third class (SO3) from June 1963 through April 1964, just after the submarine was decommissioned.

Abstract Shaun O’Shaughnessy served on board USS Growler from 1962 until 1963. He was a missile technician third class (MT3). His papers include correspondence and certificates from his Naval and submarine training, a letter to his parents, his discharge papers, and other ephemera. Included in the papers are two sets of qualification drawings, which were required before O'Shaughnessy could qualify on Growler and earn his dolphins.

Abstract The Wayne Mehl Papers contains papers from his time aboard Growler in 1961 and after. The collection includes a commendation Growler received, correspondence sent home to the families of crewmembers, an address list, newsletters from the naval base at Pearl Harbor, and a blueprint of Growler General Plans.
