Service records, November 7, 1944–August 5, 1948

Service records include: an inventory of Jones’s personal effects (in a letter in the correspondence series, Jones’s mother says these effects were returned to her when Jones was MIA); records relating to Jones reporting on board USS Tangier (AV-9) as a survivor after being MIA; a press release covering Jones’s forced landing and time MIA in Luzon; a training certificate card from the Naval Air Technical Training Center in Norman, Oklahoma ; and discharge materials, including a Rating Description pamphlet for Aviation Ordnanceman First Class and an oversize diagram of the discharge process; and an Air Medal citation.
