Biography

David Benedict, from the St. Regis Mohawk Indian Reservation in Hogansburg, New York, served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVA-11) from October 1958 to July 1961. He was initially assigned to B Division as a boiler tender and then worked in the engineering office as a yeoman. Benedict remained in the Navy after his time aboard Intrepid, serving in various intelligence billets until 1975.
