Biography

Gerald Feola, from Staten Island, New York, served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVS-11) during the ship’s second Vietnam War deployment from May to December 1967. Feola, an aviation structural mechanic third class, came aboard Intrepid with VAW 33, where he operated electronic counter measures on an EA1F Skyraider. After separating from the Navy, Feola returned to his previous job before joining the New York City Fire Department where he served for 28 years. Gerald Feola is currently an active volunteer at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.
