Biography

Mike Wade, from Atlanta, Georgia, served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVS-11) as an air intelligence officer during Intrepid’s second deployment to Vietnam in 1967. Wade spent much of his time assisting with mission planning as well as briefing and debriefing pilots. He also served as the SERE (survival, escape, resistance and evasion) officer and the rules of engagement officer for Intrepid’s air wing. After his active duty service, Wade remained in the Navy Reserve for another twenty-three years.

Scope and Contents Mike Krebs served aboard Intrepid as an attack aviator in VA-34, flying A-4 Skyhawks during Intrepid’s second deployment to Vietnam in 1967. He began his interview by explaining that he grew up in Kenosha, Wisconsin, studied electrical engineering at Marquette University, and joined the NROTC.
