Military Service

Bernard Fipp, from San Diego, California, served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVS-11) as an attack aviator in VA-34, flying A-4 Skyhawks. However, before his time in the Navy, Fipp served in the Coast Guard from January 1963 to September 1964. He joined the Navy in September 1964 and remained in the Navy until September 1969, having served aboard Intrepid during the 1967 WESTPAC cruise to Vietnam. After his time in the Navy, Fipp worked in real estate and owned a car dealership, before retiring and traveling with his wife and visiting his children and grandchildren. Fipp also wrote the book "Triple Sticks," which is based on the Triple Sticks log that Fipp and his bunkmates kept in 1967.

Bernard Fipp worked as a real estate investor after his U.S. Navy service.
