Biography

Mike Krebs, from Kenosha, Wisconsin, served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVS-11) as an attack aviator in VA-34, flying A-4 Skyhawks during Intrepid’s second deployment to Vietnam in 1967. Krebs’ plane was damaged by ground fire during one of the missions he flew over North Vietnam. The damage eventually forced him to eject, and fortunately, Krebs was over water and quickly recovered by a US destroyer. After his time aboard Intrepid, Krebs, still with VA-34, went aboard Forrestal for a Med Cruise. He was then assigned to VA-174, a shore based A-7 squadron. After leaving the Navy, Krebs worked for Electronic Data Systems for 29 years, operating and installing computer systems for client companies.
